Julian R. Portis is the Founder and Executive Director of the DP3 Community Foundation, INC. Julian has over ten years of professional experience in positive youth development, program management, and program development. A member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Julian is passionate about improving people, communities, and systems for the betterment of all!
Julian is a visionary and leader of leaders. His career expertise in management and leadership continues to provide him the opportunity to train and mentor young adults. His core values are rooted in faith, family, and commitment. Although currently enrolled at Southeastern University pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies and a Master of Divinity, Julian credits Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he learned to work diligently to empower the youth through mentorship and education, and service.
As a former athlete and musician, Julian has cultivated the art of embracing life with humility and grace. Julian is committed to making an indelible mark within his community while highlighting the legacy of his late brother, Dr. Dennis L. Portis III.
Julian believes that making a difference in the lives of others is life’s most important purpose. “You cannot lead the people if you do not love the people. "We cannot save the people if WE do not serve the people.”
