High School musicians in Oklahoma lack exposure to collegiate bands and, more importantly, in some cases, lack the required skill needed to obtain full band scholarships. Tubanomics consists of method classes for up-and-coming tuba players. In these workshops, our students focus on the fundamentals of playing their horn and the importance of character building.
The fundamentals emphasized consist of, but are not limited to, proper horn positioning, correct embouchure, sight-reading, pitch, and breathing techniques. Tubanomics consists of an amalgamation of various students from across the Oklahoma City community.
BOYS TO MENtors OKC
After school Leadership, Positive Youth Development & Social Skills Program – This program will operate three times a month during the school year. The mission of this program is to develop young men into positive role models, who will become future mentors to other young men.
Game of Life OKC
Game of Life OKC is a sports-focused youth development and college readiness program that consists of four components: Educational Success, Life Skills Building, Career Options, and Athletic Wellness. We focus on at-risk children and youth primarily attending Oklahoma City Public Schools.
By using athletics to capture the attention of student-athletes, Game of Life OKC incorporates vital services that provide participants with the opportunity to develop life skills, explore alternative careers, and have access to preparatory rigorous academic support.
H.I.M. (Health in Ministry)
Healthy communities are the result of strong resident leaders. The goal of this program is to connect and educate communities on health resources and opportunities. The purpose of H.I.M. is to equip individuals spiritually and physically.
HOLE TO WHOLE (Faith-Based Initiative)
There is a multitude of faith-based organizations or ministries within the targeted hot spot communities who desire training and skill to implement an active neighborhood outreach and support initiative. Hole to WHOLE will assist faith-based leaders or organizers on practical ways to positively engage the residents within their vicinity to yield support to families in need.
IT TAKES A VILLAGE OKC
It Takes a Village OKC is our program devoted to serving the Oklahoma City community. With partners and collaborative initiatives, we will connect families to resources and supportive assistance.
VOICES OKC
Voices OKC is a mentorship program that encourages a holistic approach for developing young girls. We pair our mentees with mentors who will engage in sessions that focus on self-love, self- care, empowerment, and development.
